Abhyangam

'Abhyangam' is a Sanskrit word which means oil application. This is a systematic way of massaging the body using medicated oils. The oil will be selected depends upon your body constitution. In Kaalimadom Ayurveda Hospital, we are offering a very ancient Kalari massage technique known as "Ettupattam Thirummu" (Eight posture massage), which will give you a pleasant and different experience.

It provides the cure for various disorders like stroke, Arthritis, Lumbar Spondylitis, Cervical Spondylitis, Sports Injuries, Parkinsonism, and many other muscle, joint, and nerve-related disorders. This massage is also good for curing diabetic gangrene and for controlling obesity.

Vamanam

Vamanam Therapy is a medicated emesis therapy, which means patients are made to vomit in order to remove Kapha toxins accumulated in the body. Especially the Kapha and Pitta Dosha brought to Amashaya (stomach and duodenum) from all over the body by the specific preoperative procedures and then eliminated out by inducing the emesis.

Vamanam is suitable for treating Anemia, Chronic indigestion, Sinus problems, Cough and cold, Oedema, Epilepsy, Skin diseases, Fever, Loss of appetite, Lymphatic obstruction, Nausea, and food poisoning, and Asthma.

Indian Ayurvedic dietary supplement called Chyawanprash / chyavanaprasha  is a cooked mixture of sugar, honey, ghee, Indian Gooseberry (amla), jam, sesame oil, berries, herbs and various spices

Virechanam

Virechanam is one of the five therapies in Ayurveda. Virechanam helps to get rid of Pitta toxins from the body that get accumulated in the liver and gallbladder. It eliminates excess bile toxins from the mid-zone of the body. Hence for many digestive ailments, people resort to this form of treatment.

This treatment is for Ulcers, IBS, gastritis, intestinal colic, jaundice, kidney complaints, hypertension, hysteria, asthma, etc.

Basti (Vasti)

Basti is an important Shatkarma, a yogic purification, intended to clean the lower abdomen, especially the colon. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other sources attribute to itS many beneficial effects.

Considered as the mother of all treatments, it cleanses the accumulated toxins from all the 3 doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, especially Vata toxins, through the colon. Basti is also highly beneficial as a rejuvenating treatment, especially in convalescent periods.

Raktha Mokshanam

Raktamokshanam is considered one of Shodhana (eradication of the basic cause of the disease) procedures. Raktamokshanam means letting of blood which is mainly indicated in certain disease states, especially when there is Raktadushti (one that causes toxicity or impurity)

Rakta moksha can be administered by various means, depending on the ailment. It is used to treat skin disease, herpes, jaundice, abscesses, ulcers, and gout, among other ailments.

Nasyam

Nayam is an Ayurvedic method of treatment for headache, sinusitis, migraine, ear, nose, and throat. During this procedure, medicated powder, juice, or herbal oils are applied through the nostrils. Seed therapy is very effective in removing toxins from the scalp and purifying organs. The healing oils and powders used in this process stimulate important centers of your brain that control your emotions. Frequent use of Alone therapy reduces stress, detoxifies, and improves your skin tone.

Patra Potali Sweda (Kizhi)

Various herbal powders, leaves, and/or medicines are tied in a cloth in the form of a bolus. Heat is applied to the body by heating the bolus with or without dipping in suitable oil is called as Kizhi treatment. There are different types of Kizhi treatments for different disease conditions. Kizhi is one of the most common Ayurvedic treatments for pain management.

This is a treatment for Arthritis: Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Spondylitis, Spondylosis, Chronic back pain, Sciatica, Myalgia, Neuralgia, Post-traumatic dysfunction, Sports injuries, Sprains, Cramps, etc.

Shiro Dhara

Shiro Dhara means continuous pouring of medicated liquids at an appropriate temperature. Here we are using medicated milk for rejuvenating your body. Shiro Dhara is performed in seven standard massage positions and lasts approximately 40 minutes.

It is the best anti-aging therapy and also cleanses your body by eliminating the doshas. Shiro Dhara is a treatment to calm the body and mind, Insomnia, Anxiety disorders, and also relieves fatigue.

Kati Vasti

Kati Vasti is the most effective Ayurveda therapy for back pain. The term 'Kati' refers to the lower back area. In this therapy, warm medicated oil is retained in the lower back area after making a rim with black gram dough around the spine for a particular time.

This treatment is beneficial for Lumbar Spondylosis, Intervertebral disc prolapses, Lumbago, Sciatica, Ankylosing spondylitis, Radiculopathy, and mechanical backache. As a preventive treatment, we can take this therapy to strengthen and nourish the spine. It relieves stiffens and pain due to daily work.

Pizhichil

Pizhichil literally means squeezing. Pizhichil is the squeezing of warm medicated oil onto the body of the patient from a piece of cloth that is periodically soaked in a vessel containing the oil. It takes around 45 - 90 minutes.

Pizhichil is beneficial for ailments like Hemiplegia, and other paralyzes. It is very effective for nervous weakness, paralysis, and all body aches.

Njavara Thepu

A treatment process by which part of the body or whole body is perspired by application of Njavara rice pudding.

This helps in improving the skin texture and muscle tone. Advised conditions of muscular dystrophy and stiffness.
